Raleigh Iron Works is an innovative new mixed-use district on a 25.2-acre industrial site just North of Downtown. The project involves leading the design of the district masterplan as well as kicking off the first phases of architecture. The first built phase will be centered around two existing warehouse structures —formerly of Peden Steel— to be converted to retail and office use. Additionally, a pair of iconic, new seven-story office buildings directly adjacent. With over 500,000sf of new office, 100,000sf of retail, and a landscape and public space design that highlights the existing industrial “discovery” of the complete, the first phase of the district will create an insight to the exciting new neighborhood that will be fully developed after multiple phases.
